Foxy’s all set to host another epic event!

The Fox is returning to the wonderful Waihi Beach in December 2024

Hosted by Ryan Fox, the popular New Zealand golf professional (and fishing fanatic), the event is a unique team format combining fishing prowess, golfing skill, and plenty of great banter!

Teams of four are treated to an entertaining, all- inclusive event with Foxy and his celebrity skippers. As well as enjoying great company and superb hospitality, the event also assists Foxy in his ongoing quest to raise funds for two outstanding, local volunteer organisations – Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services and Waihi Beach Volunteer Coastguard. Thanks to the generosity of the participants, The Fox has raised over $160,000 for the two charities since 2020.

What is
The Fox Fishing & Golf Festival?

Back in 2019 popular New Zealand golf professional, Ryan Fox, and sports television and events company, Sports Inc., got together to create an event with a difference. It had to combine Foxy’s passion for both golf and fishing, it had to be entertaining for the participating competitors, and it had to be able to raise funds for two key volunteer organisations at Foxy’s favourite holiday spot – Waihi Beach.

The result……The Fox Fishing & Golf Festival. Launched in 2020, the team event has welcomed entries from around New Zealand (as well as the USA!), as Foxy and his celebrity skippers host contestants for three days of fun.

THURSDAY 5 DECEMBER
Opening Ceremony Evening

Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services

Foxy talks tactics and introduces his Celebrity Skippers. Teams receive their exclusive team apparel, and we kick off The Fox with complimentary refreshments and finger food. Prizes awarded for best team name, as well as opening night outfit.

FRIDAY 6 DECEMBER
The Fox Fishing Feud

Bowentown Boating & Sport Fishing Club

Teams enjoy an early breakfast before heading out to catch the local bounty (packed lunch provided). Bring your own boat or enjoy the knowledge of a local skipper. The Fox concludes with the popular ‘Fish & Chip’ night at the club, plus prizegiving and entertainment.

SATURDAY 7 DECEMBER
The Fox Golf Showdown

Waihi Golf Club and Flatwhite Café

A team breakfast at Waihi Golf Club begins the day, followed by the celebrity long drive competition, before teeing off in the Ambrose event. Foxy plays a tee-shot with each team. Lunch and oncourse refreshments provided.
